Loken: Birling Gap Shoot

Updated: May 8, 2024

I had a blast photographing my fellow photographer/videographer Loken. For some reason, I hadn't anticipated getting wet myself, even when my plan was to capture pictures of Loken in the SEA! Ha ha! I was very wrong! This shoot was both exhilarating and refreshing. & I probably looked blooming ridiculous rolling around in the sea with my camera!

I hope you enjoy the results as much as we do <3

Hiya, Loken!

I always start my shoots with some test-shots to check the lighting -- I couldn't resist putting this image in the blog as Loken looks so beautiful here!

We navigated our way into the sea & I directed Loken away from the crowds. Finding empty space was difficult at points, but I managed to get some great landscape shots nonetheless!

Patches of sand were few & far between but we found this space, and I love how the sunlight hits the sea.

ree

Loken was brave & laid on the wet sand! I love this profile shot of her; so feminine and flattering.

Then I introduced a light prism to have a play with. Using the light prism tactfully can enable you to reflect backgrounds from opposite directions. It takes some getting used to but I love the effect that it has on photographs.

The light prism can produce ethereal and heavenly effects...

I love the way Loken's dress billows in the wind & the way the sun hits it...

ree

The dress looks like a little meringue, so cute! I also think the shape of the dress resembles the rocks & Loken compliments the scenery so well...

The wet-look is giving The Notebook vibes!
